This past Saturday, I got to go to the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival. It was also a public holiday so we just happened to get a beautiful view of the celebratory fireworks as well! I'm not going to write too much in this post... I think I'll just let the pictures tell the story.
I have to admit that I don't really know many famous jazz artists. The featured band of the night was Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band, featuring Terence Blanchard. I figured they were pretty famous since "Poncho" kept yelling, "the amazing Terence Blanchard, everyone!" (And yes... I just googled him and he's a Grammy winning jazz trumpeter and composer). But I actually enjoyed the last performer who was a cute old grandpa on the piano. My favourite songs of the night were his renditions of Nat King Cole's Smile, and Frank Sinatra's That's All. I love oldies... old people and old songs. I'm such a grandma at heart. Now excuse me while I go take out my dentures. Wow... total digression. This is my cue to end this post. bye!
whoa awesome fireworks. puts Van's celebration of lights to shame :p
